Peer Pressure
Craving to use my artworks to express the problems and things we faced in this society. I noticed a lot of pressure going on around me. In school, there is pressure on assignments, socializing, and most commonly, peer pressure from others. Peer Pressure is also something I faced when I just got to my new school in Hong Kong. Noticing this kind of pressure around us, I decided to make an artwork to express this kind of pressure. So, therefore, I used line arts and pure black and white tone to express this powerful, stressful but also inevitable pressure.

Judgement
Peer pressure is a kind of judgment people tend to make about others and pressure the on their different choices. That is the reason I add eyes in this drawing, to show that people around you are always watching and judging you.

Limitation
With peer pressure, people got limited. Limited by the choices they make, the things they choose to say. When someone struggled with peer pressure, they let the others take control of them instead of themselves. I use the hair and also some ribbons around it to express the feeling of limitation.
Piano
As someone who played piano for quite a period of time, I’ve always had a lot of passion for this instrument. However, as a really common instrument, there are a lot of people playing piano. Causing me to get continuously peer pressured. I used these deformed states of piano abstractly to express the form the piano had become because of peer pressure.
The Design of the Crystal Ball in the Middle.
Peer pressure is indeed some kind of inevitable kind of pressure around us. In this drawing, I used this kind of crystal ball design to trap the person in the middle because peer pressure is just like one. Peer pressure: something that traps you inside, but also exposes you to the outside. The same for a crystal ball ——— both claustrophobic and transparent.
In the end, I want to state that I believe peer pressure is only the struggle to fit in with others. However, we all live a life of ourselves. I want to suggest that a better way to live is to just be yourself.
